Bird news

Friday 26th
  • Pair of spotted flycatchers showing well in the vicinity of Jack's Pond Friday lunchtime (Mark Ward and John Day)
Thursday 25th
  • Hobbies twice from my window (Mark Ward)
  • Another Garden Chafer mass emergence Thursday, especially on small lawn in front of house (IKD, DFD)
Wednesday 24th
  • A pair of hobbies in high altitude display from my window early afternoon on Wednesday and up to 3 buzzards on and off this week (Mark Ward)
Tuesday 23rd
  • Tuesday: mass emergence of Garden Chafers Phyllopertha horticola in garden (Andre Farrar)
  • Lunchtime: 7 Jackdaws on the lawn outside Avocet, feeding voraciously on what looked like small chafers (Lucinda King, Katie Fuller)
Monday 22nd
  • 1720hrs, Monday, from the Lodge Carpark, c.53 Swifts North over the Ivel Valley. Any other large gatherings noted elsewhere pre or post showers? (Darren Oakley-Martin)
Friday 19th
  • Crossbills in front of house Friday 19th pm (Gwyn Williams)
Thursday 18th
  • c.10 noisy Crossbills flew out of some pines by the new car park/outside of transport at 17:25 on Thursday evening, 18th (Jamie Wells)
