Bird news

Thurs 11th
  • Good view of a mink in the ditch which runs at right angles to the path across the old railway line. Also, three nightingales singing. On the heath, two small coppers and a common lizard. Ovipositing large red damselflies on Jack's pond and plantation pond (Duncan McNiven/Debbie Pain)
Wednesday 10th
  • Lizard on heath, Weds lunchtime (Lynn Giddings)
  • Hornet outside of the main house building, nr reception entrance Weds lunchtime (Jamie Wells)
Tuesday 9th
  • Cuckoo over Snipe building heading towards the gardens @ 17:25, Tuesday 9th (Jamie Wells)
  • Spotted Flycatcher half way along the drive, 13:40 Tuesday afternoon (Kat Balaam, Jamie Wells)
  • Large Red Damselflies emerging from canteen pond, Tues (Margaret Walton)
